Notice how, when you focus on light, everything else are in shadows?
When objects are subjected to light, you see details more clearly. Colours, contours, and shapes are defined. And even the tiniest bit of imperfection will become visible to the naked eye. You then can know that something’s truly there. You can boldly identify it.
Then when you look at the light directly, anything that surrounds it seems to disappear. They are now hidden in shadows. It will be difficult to make them out.
However, the thing about having a source of light, it can be generous. It will allow your vision to adjust in order to see well enough to go through the darkness. It’ll guide you through the shadows.
