Sasha, Sun and the Countryside

I wonder if I truly see the true beauty of the mundane. A life we consider extraordinarily dull may just be a rare gem for others. Do we pause and say thanks for letting us get a glimpse of their treasure?

We scoff at the everyday rustics of the roads we take in life. Are we really all that far above them? Perhaps if we take a moment and let the flare of light get pass the reflection of ourselves that we seem to have mired our vision of the rest of the world, we’ll see that moments pass in a blur and yes, taking stock in the little things will eventually count.

Life is like that it seems.

Sun beats down and you shine your own light up, what do you see? It’s nature, surprisingly, speaking to you. They silently told me that they know me like how my God knows me by my first name. And I was honoured. Makes the drive out all worthwhile.

Note to self: bring with you your own light. Always. To see life differently each and every time.

Heart, A Favourite Word
Best viewed at 500

Whipping out my kit lens, I embarked on this week’s task of sharing my favourite word. MY favourite word. Mine. And they’re just asking for one. If they only knew how difficult it was for someone like me, whose head is filled with a million things to say, to narrow her choice down into just one. One!

But I had chosen the word HEART.

Heart, the organ that pumps life into our being.

Heart that symbolises the vessel of love.

Heart that which enamours you to compassion.

Heart that which enables you to live out your passion.

I share a photo of a favourite word written with light in just a fraction of a minute. And my presence seen in a sliver of silhouette. The heart takes the center stage over self. That’s how things should turn out anyway.

Trivia: Taken inside my room (GAH) and the *light* used for writing was from my Nokia E71, see EXIF data; Parañaque, Philippines, March 2009.

When I was a kid, I’ve always thought that coffee is a “grown up” drink. Oftentimes, my parents will ask me to make them a cup as they’re pretty big drinkers, saying that I make it so well. Confused cuz I haven’t really started drinking it yet but being the gullible person that I am, I believed them with all my heart. I still do. I’m not certain but I think this contributed to why I drink coffee now. I know my other siblings drink it, too, but I reckon they don’t drink it as often as I do.

Australia in Green and Gold

A sick day brings back memories of a recent trip to Australia. The land of green and gold. Thoughts of Summer often cheer me up.

Starting with the little things. One would simply walk past them without a second glance. Missing the beauty of something wild and untamed. How it adapts and changes with its surroundings.

To the bigger things.
