Then the weekend’s over. Now, how did that happen?
As I sit here, writing, I had to trace back what I did the last 3 days. I really wasn’t planning to blog today because I’d wanted to just relax a bit but there’s this nagging feeling that I just may lose the steam created from my recent activities. Oh, add the fact that I’m actually looking forward to sharing, haha.
DAY 17 • 07 April
After receiving the great news about StyleManila.com in Day 16, the following day brought about a few important errands that I needed to take care of. Alas, it meant I needed to pretty up a bit since I’m going out.
I had toyed with the idea of writing up a quick FOTD post last Friday but, you guessed it, ran out of time.
Should I do it now? Nah, let’s save that for another time.
Besides, the only reason why I’d do the FOTD is because I decided to take the Nu Colour Curl & Lash Mascara for a test run (will try to do a separate post after I’ve used it several times). Can you tell I’m wearing mascara? I can!
And, as you may have noticed, I hardly have any makeup on, just the Advanced Tinted Moisturiser in beige, filled in my brows, then traced my lips with MAC lip liner in Spice — yes, I applied the Sunright Lip Balm before using the lip liner.
No foundation or powder. No blush. No eyeliner. The fact that I’m wearing mascara and lip liner already makes this *too dressed up* for a simple errand run, haha. Ah well, I was in a playful mood that day, hence, the extra effort in putting on makeup.
DAY 18 • 08 April
The next day, Saturday, brought on heat that would make anyone restless. Then cue in a power outage, you’d be surprised how I’d managed to keep my cool esp since it interrupted my work (thank goodness for command+S, haha), and magnified the fact that it’s a very hot day. So just decided to emerge from my room, go downstairs, and convince my mom to make me a halo-halo snack so we can all cool off while we hang out.
Come to think of it, the rest of the day was spent hanging out with family. My cousins arrived with kids in tow and little ol’ me can’t resist playing with little A whenever she’s around. Such a cutie pie. She calls me “Shawon” or would manage to throw in “Tita” (aunt) at times, if she remembers, haha.
With the heat I experienced this day, I was tempted not to put any product on after I showered. I was afraid I’d end up feeling sticky and icky after sweating out the warm temp. But I had to remind myself that I still need to condition my skin and put on SPF to keep it protected. AND I told myself that I can always take another shower later on, haha.
DAY 19 • 09 April
Before, I would usually spend my Sundays writing, reading, sketching — all while enjoying my coffee at a nearby Starbucks. Now, I don’t feel like going out of the house unless I really need to. So, this routine was replaced with what I secretly call Sunday Slack, haha. Ah well, secret’s out. This usually entails sleeping in, the longer I’d get to stay in bed, the better. I usually can’t since I’d end up with a sore back if I do. Then brunch (or lunch, haha) while I watch an episode of the current series I’m marathoning, or a movie — which means I plan to stay in bed after I eat.
Anyway, today, I did something a little different. Got up earlier so I decided to just play around and roadtest a couple of products: first was the mud mask, Epoch Glacial Marine Mud. I’m no stranger to masks but I’m not a regular user either so, in brief, the experience was both novel and familiar, and deserves a separate post. Will tell you more about this soon! But here’s a bit, what I’ve read about this product so far is that it seems a lot of folks are loving it. Good to know that I have this chance to see for myself what the fuss is all about, haha.

So, since I was rinsing off the mask anyway, went ahead and took a quick shower. I didn’t want *muddy accidents* dripping all over my shirt.
In the afternoon, to alleviate myself from the heat, I decided to take another shower — which brings us to the second product roadtested, the ReNu Hair Mask. Said that like I need to feel less guilty for using up more water; it being a good and practical excuse other than just to keep myself cool, gah. Again, I’ve used hair masks or intensive hair conditioners before but I haven’t been using one the past year or so. That’s why I was pretty excited about using it on my hair. The product says I’ll see results in 7 days. Hm. Anyway, will definitely blog about this separately to see how it goes!
Trivia: the Day 19 photo is post-mud mask and pre-hair mask, hehe.
Best bit that happened today, I finally was able to get a bit of my photography mojo back, haha. Now, I’m all set to redo all the product photos I’ve already shot and processed, haha.
Your turn. How was your weekend?
