Mimi and Bunny

Meet Mimi and her stuffed bunny named Bunny. A non-glazed ceramic figure that has become a source of inspiration — design and health. Allow me to explain.
Constant moving has rendered me unrooted and displaced. Packing and unpacking can be a tedious task but, personally, effects go beyond the physical. It’s only recently that I realised what I’ve been wanting to happen for quite some time now, which was to nest. Build and settle.
I’ve had plans of fixing my old room. Though circumstance had left these plans untouched until a few weeks ago. I had returned to the place where I grew up. Now, I have started on the process of building a nest, a space to call my own.
Colours and Mimi’s countenance have become a source of inspiration for my newly renovated room. Yellow and Lavender, two of the colours that are now found in my personal space. She brings a lighthearted touch to what most will think a very polished-looking room. A simple mark that the person who occupies the space is still very much a little girl, regardless of her age.
Donned in her pajamas, Mimi symbolizes sleep. One of the things that I know I need to work on. It’s my way of helping myself get over the fear of falling asleep; constantly bothered by unsettling dreams. This helps in reminding me that my room is a place that I can feel safe.
Moreover, I’m fond of stuffed toys and had kept a couple of special ones in the past. One, lost and the other, buried. Mimi clutches Bunny close to her, seemingly signifying the comfort it brings as she sleeps. Yes, I had found comfort in my stuffed toys. They’re confidants; witnesses to my secrets. They are keepers of memories.
With open arms, I welcome Mimi and Bunny into the new chapter of my life. A promising new chapter that will be filled with more inspirations, fulfillment of promises, and the beginning of a good life.
