Let’s pretend we share the same hope.
Let’s pretend these flowers came from you.
Let’s pretend my smile’s for you.
Let’s pretend that I’ll lie next to your warm body tonight —
and wake up to your soft kisses.
Let’s pretend.

Well, at least, I will. I hope that’s alright.

Standing under the pale moonlight, my thoughts are drawn to your memory. I smile a bittersweet smile.

Wondering. Wishing. Willing.

Wondering the fateful coincidences that brought you to me. Wishing for light and chances. Willing our paths to cross permanently.

Fascination, it must be. The idea of you soothes away the ache of people past. Like the thin cloud that blankets the moon, the conundrum dulls and will never nullify. Perfectly imperfect.

“All I ever wanted to see is just invisible to me. All the time.”

And because, today, I choose to breathe.

Watching her walk down the aisle, unexplainable bittersweet happiness flowed through my system. Sweetness, from the memory of her love story. Bitterness, from the thought that it had resonated a failed one.

But comedy trumps tragedy.

Tears flow from unlikely eyes. Floods the smile. Suppressing the urge to laugh because of the overflowing joy felt. Strange contrast.

I cried, blubbered like any normal girl would.

Is marriage truly overrated, much less crying in weddings? One will never fully understand till they find themselves wishing they had something to help wipe away the tears that threaten to ruin their makeup. The strangeness is surreal. But memory serves it vivid and rich with epiphanies.

I reckon you will never, though try if you must, suppress what’s truly inside.

Sasha, Sun and the Countryside

I wonder if I truly see the true beauty of the mundane. A life we consider extraordinarily dull may just be a rare gem for others. Do we pause and say thanks for letting us get a glimpse of their treasure?

We scoff at the everyday rustics of the roads we take in life. Are we really all that far above them? Perhaps if we take a moment and let the flare of light get pass the reflection of ourselves that we seem to have mired our vision of the rest of the world, we’ll see that moments pass in a blur and yes, taking stock in the little things will eventually count.

Life is like that it seems.
